A Customized Procedure

None of the treatments at our practice is one‐size‐fits‐all. Our aesthetic specialists customize nonsurgical procedures after assessing your skin type and condition and discussing your cosmetic goals. We perform microneedling using Vistapen™, a hand‐held device that glides across the skin during the treatment.

We begin the treatment by applying a topical numbing gel to the treatment area. After it takes effect, your provider glides the Vistapen across the treatment area. As the device tip makes contact, microneedles rapidly penetrate the skin. This creates thousands of tiny wounds, triggering the production of new collagen as the body works to heal the micro‐injuries. This process also shrinks and tightens the skin. These micro‐channels also help deliver nutrient‐rich skincare products used during the treatment to enhance your skin’s health and appearance. We recommend using serums and ointments at home after a microneedling procedure to boost your results.

Recovery After Microneedling

There is far less downtime following a Vistapen treatment when compared to laser skin resurfacing treatments. For example, after getting an ablative laser procedure, it’s recommended that you avoid direct sun exposure for up to 6 months. Because Vistapen is gentler and doesn’t remove layers of skin, you only have to take regular precaution when outside, such as applying sunscreen.

At the same time, a Vistapen treatment can achieve results comparable to those produced by a fractional laser — without the risk of hyper‐ or hypopigmentation. Other side effects and downtime associated with these effective, but potentially damaging, ablative heat‐based treatments can also be avoided with Vistapen.
